Case Study: High Wycombe
|Project||De-vegetation/excavation/soil nailing and netting.|
|Location||High Wycombe Train Station|
TRAC were appointed to carry out de-veg/excavation/soil nailing & netting works on an embankment within High Wycombe train station.
The works involved de-veg of the entire embankment using a tracked chipper prior to excavation of 550T of soil with the use of a 58 tonne long reach excavator.
On completion of the excavation works, the drill rig was mounted on the long reach excavator to drill 42 holes at 100mm diameter in a depth of 4.5m and grouted using fast set cement.
High tensile mesh was used on the slope using Tecco system spike plates to strengthen and prevent any movement within the soil that may be caused due to excavation and construction.
Picture below is the end result of the embankment after completion of soil stabilisation and installed netting.
