Dunnet Head Lighthouse

Dunnet Head Lighthouse marks the most northerly point of the Scottish mainland - situated 2.35 miles further North than John O’Groats. The 20m high round masonry lighthouse tower and associated buildings were built by James Smith in 1831. 

The works comprised of civil maintenance repair works and the application of decorative / protective coatings to the external elevations of the lighthouse tower. More specifically, the main items of work were; carrying out  minor civil repairs, power-wash all external surfaces of buildings, prepare & redecorate oth interally & externally, lay new path in front of Welfare Block, replace electric heaters as required.
