Northern Lighthouse Board - Maintenance & Redecoration Framework Update

It’s that time of year again when our Northern Lighthouse Board teams are at their busiest. Taking advantage of some seldom seen dry and sunny weather has allowed a productive start to the summer season.

Works are due to begin work at Earls Hill next week, the latest project under our Maintenance and Redecoration Framework. Unusually for our lighthouse contract – the site contains no lighthouse; and is no where near the sea! The site is actually a DGPS Transmitter Station near Stirling with 2 single storey buildings and two fifty meter high masts with a transmitter aerial connected between.

The works will involve the removal of all boss roughcast as well as redundant fixings from both buildings in preparation for repairs to be completed. Repairs will be carried out on the access system to one of the buildings as well as the removal of an existing fence and erection of new timber boundary fences. The posts and wire fences around the mast guy ropes will also be inspected and repaired and both buildings will be redecorated internally and externally.

More information coming soon!
